Marie's Favorite Classic Anime
Fruits Basket — The comfort anime of all comfort anime.
I probably rewatched this the most thanks to a very good Funimation DVD set.
Favorite character: Kyo.
Rurouni Kenshin — My introduction to “period piece” anime.
Despite its filler bloat, it remains a favorite.
Favorite character: Saitō Hajime.
Trigun — Goofy, philosophical, and endlessly rewatchable.
I watched this one on repeat and even got to see Yasuhiro Nightow at Anime Expo.
Favorite character: Vash or Millie — impossible to choose.
Saiyuki — Found family + forced proximity = perfection.
Favorite character: Cho Hakkai.
Escaflowne — My sister hated the art style, but I loved this strange, philosophical romp.
Favorite character: Strategos.
Inuyasha — My early anime addiction starter kit, courtesy of Cartoon Network.
Favorite character: Sesshōmaru.
Vampire Princess Miyu — Hard to find, badly dubbed, but unforgettable.
Favorite character: Miyu or Lava.
